On Monday, US Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in less than a month.
According to HHS spokesman Sarah Lovenheim, Becerra took an antigen test in Sacramento, California, in the morning, and the result was positive. “He has been properly immunised and boosted against COVID-19, and he is suffering moderate symptoms,” Lovenheim said in a statement. “He will continue to carry out his obligations as HHS Secretary, working alone.”

Becerra, 64, previously tested positive for COVID-19 on a trip to Berlin in mid-May.
Becerra was in Los Angeles last week to attend the contentious Summit of the Americas sponsored by the United States.
