Total COVID immunisation coverage in India surpasses 188.40 cr

According to preliminary statistics received by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday, the country’s total COVID-19 immunisation coverage has surpassed 188.40 crore (1,88,40,75,453) via 2,31,86,439 sessions.

According to the government, the COVID-19 vaccination for teenagers aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022, and more than 2.78 crore (2.78 million) adolescents have received the first dose, and 49.86 crore (49,86,816) have received the second dose thus far. According to the ministry, people between the ages of 15 and 18 have received 5,831,09,299 first doses and 4,18,99,185 second doses of the coronavirus vaccination.

Meanwhile, 1,23,173 cautionary doses were given to those aged 18–44 years, while 4,41,168 and 1,46,72,888 were given to people aged 45–59 years and beyond 60 years, respectively.

People between the ages of 18 and 44 were given 55,56,27,071 (1st Dose) and 47,71,00,613 (2nd Dose) of COVID-19, while those between the ages of 45 and 59 were given 20,29,04,425 (1st Dose) and 18,77,20,783 (2nd Dose).

Senior persons (those over the age of 60) received 12,68,54,070 (1st Dose) and 11,69,48,915 (2nd Dose) Coronavirus vaccinations.

The active caseload in India is presently 16,980, with 3,303 new infections recorded in the previous 24 hours.
