After a violent dispute, a Pune doctor was detained for reportedly cutting his wife’s hair with a knife and beating her with it.
The event occurred late Sunday in the Dhanori area of Pune.
After his wife informed him that she would be attending her sister’s wedding, the accused, 38, returned home intoxicated and began a fight with her.
The accused, in a fit of fury, took up a knife and chopped her hair before hitting her on the back with it, according to police.
On Monday, the woman went to the police station and filed a complaint against her husband.
The culprit was subsequently detained under section 326 of the IPC (intentionally causing severe bodily harm with dangerous weapons), according to the officer, who added that additional investigation is ongoing.
