Since the National Board of Examinations, NBE, decided to postpone the NEET PG test, medical aspirants have been demanding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or Postpone NEET MDS 2022. Aspirants have once again taken to social media, especially Twitter, in search of new test dates and the hashtag #DeferNEETMDS.
Postpone NEET MDS 2022 has been trending on social media for a few days, with some calling the test system unfair and asking for help from the National Students Union of India, NSUI. However, it recently gained the attention of the public when Shashi Tharoor quoted tweeted a request for the exam to be postponed.
NEET MDS 2022 Exam Date has been set for March 6, 2022. The registrations for this exam ended on January 24, 2022, giving roughly about 2 months to aspirants to prepare. All this happened alongside the NEET PG 2022 exam and its registrations.
Matters got tense when NBE decided to postpone NEET PG exam while no consideration was made and given to NEET MDS aspirants. Even though the reasons of demanding for a delay in exam dates were similar, nothing was announced in favour of the aspirants of the latter exam.
NEET MDS 2022 Postponement is being demanded for these reasons :
- As per the eligibility criteria announced by NBE, aspirants willing to write the upcoming exam, must have completed their internships by March 31, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several aspirants, especially of 2016 batch started their internships late and hence, they are not eligible to appear in this exam anymore.
- NEET MDS batch of 2021 joined late and only in November, 2021. Since it’s only been a few months to their course, it is highly likely that this batch won’t be done with their studies anytime soon. Aspirants have alleged that if NEET MDS 2022 is conducted on March 6, 2022, it is likely to cause pressure on infrastructure as accommodating 2 batches together is not easy.
After taking into consideration, Postpone NEET MDS 2022 is being demanded by many aspirants. As of now, those seeking a delay are hoping for new exam dates to either be alongside NEET PG exam or looking for paper delay by 2-3 months.
