Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the current Covid-19 situation and vaccination drive on Monday. During the address, PM Modi said that Centre will provide Covid-19 vaccines for free to all above 18 years of age from 21 June in government vaccination centres.In addition to that, the prime minister also said that those who wish to pay can still get shots at private hospitals. However, he added that private hospitals can charge maximum of ₹150 as service charge per dose above fixed price of the vaccine.
Modi also said private sector hospitals can continue to procure 25 per cent of vaccines. Prime Minister asserted that vaccine supply would be increased significantly in the country in coming days.
