According to news agency ANI, which cited sources, American pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson have yet to submit for emergency use authorization (EUA) for their Covid-19 vaccinations.
This comes only days after the central government said that it is in talks with Covid-19 vaccine makers Moderna and Pfizer over a variety of concerns, including indemnity waiver.
“We are in contact with them (Moderna and Pfizer), and we are having negotiations. It is a process of negotiation and dialogue, and we are attempting to reach an agreement on contractual and commitment concerns. This process is ongoing,” said Dr VK Paul, member (health), NITI Aayog.
Moderna, a US biotechnology company, reported in June that India had approved the importation of its Covid-19 vaccine for limited usage in an emergency case.
