As per the news report during the launch event, the Patanjali product was billed by the company as the “first evidence-based medicine for COVID-19” and there were claims that the “medicine” was CoPP and WHO GMP certified – meaning it holds a certificate of pharmaceutical product (CoPP) and is recognised by the World Health Organisation’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).It created a confusion in general public that Coronil is WHO approved drug for corona
The WHO, however clarified that it has not reviewed or certified any traditional medicine to treat or prevent COVID-19.
Patanjali Ayurved managing director Acharya Balkrishna later clarifed that WHO GMP compliant COPP certificate to Coronil is issued by DCGI, Government of India.
During this pandemic,WHO has issued treatment protocol for covid where they have recommended few drugs to be used in certain conditions.
Coronil as per news report may be use as supportive drugs like so many other medicine.
It is advisable to carefully go through company literature for using any new drugs and counter check research papers.
We as Indian will always be proud if any drug from India gets WHO approval for treatment of Corona.
Face coverings (nose &mouth) are part of new normal. Keep safe distance, wash your hands frequently.
- Do not give importance to rumors about efficacy of corona vaccine .
