Physicians and prospective doctors around the country have been plagued by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination, Postgraduate or NEET PG Counselling 2021. Resident physicians have renewed their protest after upping their demands for a counselling schedule as soon as possible, citing a continuous delay in scheduling and alleged “false promises” by the administration.
Residents of Ram Manohar Lohia, Safdarjung, and Lady Hardinge hospitals have continued their strike after boycotting all services, including emergency, according to the latest information. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the severe scarcity of physicians in numerous hospitals, citing the prolonged postponement of NEET PG Counselling 2021.
NEET PG Counselling 2021:
What We Know So Far NEET PG Counselling 2021 was originally scheduled to start on October 25, 2021. However, because the Supreme Court placed a stay on it until the legitimacy of the EWS and OBC reservations in the AIQ was decided, it was supposed to start after November 16, 2021, because the hearing was set on that day.
However, aspirants and resident doctors have been concerned about the frequent delays in Counselling schedules, with the Apex Court postponing the next hearing to January 6, 2022. This might result in a year being wasted. Residents organised a strike in response, which was backed by the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association, FORDA.
NEET PG Counselling 2021 is awaited by nearly 2 lakh candidates. While it is likely that the number of students appearing for it would be less, the delay in counselling is causing a problem in many ways, staff shortage at hospitals being one of them. Even though Health Ministry requested for an early hearing, no solution was sought and hence, doctors decided to resume their strike.
