While hearing a plea alleging anomalies in NEET PG 2022 results, the Supreme Court rejected to postpone the counselling for the same on Monday, stating it would not take such a drastic move. The next hearing date has been set on August 25.
A court led by Justice DY Chandrachud was hearing a plea filed by certain physicians seeking instructions on the publication of question papers and answer keys for NEET-PG 2022 applicants.
The petitioners have challenged the National Board of Examinations’ (NBE) decision not to reveal the answer key and question paper, stating that the board did so despite knowing there are significant disparities.
The petitioners have challenged the National Board of Examinations’ (NBE) decision not to reveal the answer key and question paper, claiming that the board did so despite knowing there are significant differences in the results.
Furthermore, the petitioners sought the court to order the NBE to give NEET-PG 2022 applicants, including the petitioners, the option of reassessment if their results differed.
The petitioners’ attorney informed the judge that a similar case involving NEET PG 2021 is also pending before the court. As a result, the court clubbed both cases together and ordered that the final hearing be held on August 25.
In response to the petitioners’ counsel’s request for a stay on the counselling, which was set to commence on September 1, the court stated that it could not grant an order stopping the therapy.
Doctors who have obtained their MBBS degrees and are registered with the State Medical Councils have submitted the current petition.
According to the petitioners, they discovered a significant disparity in their NEET-PG 2022 results. However, the NBE does not allow applicants to re-evaluate, re-check, or re-total their scores on the answer sheets in order to rule out the potential of a mismatch in their marks.

The petitioners claim that, unlike the NBE, the National Testing Agency, which administers the NEET-UG, allows applicants to contest the answer keys. Several other famous tests, like IIT-JEE, CMAT, CLAT, and Judicial Services, offer the ability to dispute the answer key.
