Nana Patole, the head of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, stated on Tuesday that NEET has become similar to the Vyapam scandal and urged Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to cancel NEET for Maharashtra.
Patole stated in a letter to Thackeray that students should be admitted based on their state board test results.
Patole told reporters at the state Congress headquarters in Dadar that NEET papers had been leaked and that some contestants were employing dummies. He stated that 16 lakh students took the NEET, and that numerous anomalies were noticed. Paper leaks occurred in Nagpur, Jaipur, and other cities.
He also claimed that pupils who took CBSE and other central tests received greater grades than those who took state board examinations, and he provided statistics to back up his claim.
Patole supported Thackeray in his opposition to Governor B S Koshiyari’s proposal for a two-day Assembly session to examine women’s safety. He stated that women’s security is a national problem, and that a four-day session of Parliament is required. He said that Raj Bhavan had been converted into a BJP office.
