MD of Biological E meet Union Health Minister, briefs on progress of Corbevax

Hyderabad-based Biological E, is working on Corbevax vaccine for Covid-19. The company’s MD, Mahima Dalta, indicated that progress is currently underway. She met with the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today in this regard.

Mandaviya tweeted that the MD briefed him on the progress of the upcoming vaccine and assured government support to the company.

BE conducted trials on the Corbevax vaccine in cooperation with the Bayer College of Medicine in the United States. Corbevax is a protein subunit vaccine. It is being created using the same technology that is used to make vaccines of Hepatitis B and HPV.

On June 3, Biological signed an agreement with the Central Government. According to the deal, the company will produce about 30 crore vaccines from August to December this year. Members of the Mahima Dhats in a cave set up for the distribution of vaccines worldwide.
