In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,542 new Covid cases and 1,919 recoveries, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs.
India’s active caseload is currently 26,449, accounting for 0.06 percent of total cases. In the last 24 hours, 1,919 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of patients recovered to 4,40,77,068 on Tuesday.
According to the Health Ministry, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.76%.
The daily positivity rate was 0.68 percent, with a weekly positivity rate of 1.02 percent.
According to preliminary reports, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 219.37 crore as of 7 a.m. today.

2,27,207 tests were performed in the last 24 hours. India has conducted 89.89 crore cumulative tests to date.
Earlier on July 15, the ‘COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsava’ campaign was launched to promote Precaution Dose as part of the national COVID vaccination drive, which concluded after administering over 15.92 crores of precaution doses, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
During these 75 days, over 13.01 lakh Special COVID vaccination camps were organised, according to the Ministry of Health.
“In 75 days, across all states and UTs, 11,104 camps were organised at bus stops, 5,664 camps at railway stations, 511 camps at airports, over 1,50,004 camps at various schools and colleges, 4,451 camps along religious yatra routes, and over 11,30,044 camps at various private and government workplaces and industrial establishments,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Ministry, over 76.18 lakh first doses, 2.35 crore second doses, and 15.92 crore precaution doses were administered during the 75-day period.
“More than 24.73 lakh doses per day have been administered, including 20.68 lakh doses of precaution dose per day,” it said, adding that with the intervention of a 75-day free vaccination campaign, 27% of the eligible population has now received their precaution dose, up from 8% at the start of the initiative.
All States and UTs were urged to run the COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsava campaign as a ‘Jan Abhiyan’ with massive mass mobilisation, using a camp approach, under the COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsava. Multiple special vaccination camps were set up along the routes of the Char Dham Yatra (Uttarakhand), Amarnath Yatra (Jammu and Kashmir), Kanwar Yatra (all North Indian states and UTs), as well as major Melas and congregations.
