According to a Delhi government health advisory issued on Sunday, 1,530 new COVID-19 cases were registered in the last 24 hours.
There were 5,542 active cases in the nation’s capital. According to the alert, 3,88,76,508 coronavirus tests have been performed thus far, and 37,501 people have been vaccinated against the sickness in the previous 24 hours.
In the latest 24 hours, a positivity rate of 8.41% was reported, and the country’s total COVID-19 active cumulative positive cases stood at 19,22,089.
In the previous 24 hours, the city recorded 1,104 recoveries, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 18,90,315.
During the period, three persons died from the illness in the capital city, bringing the total death toll from COVID-19 in Delhi to 26,232.
Meanwhile, according to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 12,899 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 15 fatalities.
On Saturday, India reported 13,216 new infections in the past 24 hours, breaking the 13,000-mark for the first time in more than three months.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, India’s COVID infection count has risen to 43,296,692.
In light of the recent increase in COVID-19 instances recorded throughout the country, the Health Ministry of India asked states and union territories on June 9 to be vigilant and rigorously adhere to COVID-appropriate behaviour.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan asked States/UTs on Thursday to increase RT-PCR testing, monitoring, clinical management, immunisation, COVID-19 procedures, and adopt prompt preventive measures in a letter. Bhushan also asked the government to use a “five-pronged Strategy.”
