Daily COVID count has increased by 90%, with 2,183 new infections reported in India during last 24 hours

Following a gradual reduction in new COVID cases for several weeks following the third surge in January-February this year, primarily due to the Omicron variant, India’s daily COVID infections increased by 89.8% on Monday, from 1,150 cases the day before, to 2,183 instances in the last 24 hours.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (on Monday), the daily case-positive rate increased from 0.31 percent on Sunday to 0.83 percent on Monday.The weekly positivity rate increased from 0.27 percent on Sunday to 0.32 percent on Monday (on Monday).

With the recovery of 1,985 COVID patients in the last 24 hours, active cases have decreased somewhat to 11,542, accounting for 0.03 percent of all cases.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the country has seen a total of 4,25,10,773 recoveries. The rate of recovery remained constant at 98.76 percent.COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 5,21,965 people.

During this time, a total of 2,61,440 COVID samples were tested in the country, bringing the total number of samples examined to 83.21 crore.

During this time, 2,66,459 COVID shots were given out as part of the National Vaccination Drive. The total number of immunizations given out has now reached 1,864,544,94,355.

Meanwhile, the daily COVID-19 caseload in Delhi continues to rise, with 517 new infections reported in the last 24 hours. This is the biggest number since February 20, when 570 COVID-19 cases were reported, according to the Delhi health department.
