Compared to other vaccinations, Covishield utilisation as prophylactic dosage for Covid-19 is higher

Compared to other vaccinations, Covishield has had the greatest rate of use as a COVID-19 precaution dosage, according to sources in the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 15,66,49,800 precaution doses had been delivered nationwide as of this writing.

Covishield and COVID Vaccine Amrit Mahotsav

On July 15, 2022, the “COVID Vaccine Amrit Mahotsav” campaign was introduced to encourage precautionary doses as part of the nationwide COVID immunisation programme. The programme offers free prophylactic doses for 75 days (from July 15 to September 30, 2022) at all government COVID immunisation centres for those 18 years of age and older.

Under the direction of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, many meetings with States/UTs and other stakeholders have also been held to strategize the campaign.

Large-scale nationwide awareness initiatives have raised public knowledge about the Precaution Dose.

On the paths of the Char Dham Yatra (Uttarakhand), Amarnath Yatra (Jammu and Kashmir), Kanwar Yatra (all States/UTs of North India), as well as significant Melas and congregations, special vaccination camps have been arranged.

Continual support from the Central government has also been guaranteed to the States/UTs in order to further simplify and speed up operations.

The Central Government has also given states and UTs advice on how to prevent vaccine expiration through meticulous planning and ongoing process supervision.
