More than 194.17 crore vaccine doses have already been distributed to States and Union Territories as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination push, according to information released on Sunday by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to additional official data, there are still 7.98 crore more vaccine doses accessible to States and Union Territories. “To far, the Government of India has distributed more than 194.17 crore (1,94,17,34,325) vaccine doses to States/UTs via direct state purchase and the free channel. The States/UTs still have more than 7.98 Cr (7,98,65,080) in remaining COVID vaccine doses and balance that can be provided “said the Ministry in a statement.
The Central Government is dedicated to stepping up and broadening the COVID-19 vaccination programme nationwide. On January 16, 2021, the nationwide COVID-199 immunisation campaign began.
Beginning on June 21, 2021, a new phase of COVID-19 vaccination was made mandatory. The availability of more vaccinations, early notification of vaccine availability to States and UTs for improved planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain have all increased the vaccination campaign.
The Government of India has been assisting the States and UTs by giving them free COVID vaccines as part of the national vaccination push.
The Union Government will purchase and provide (free of charge) to States and UTs 75% of the vaccinations being produced by the country’s vaccine manufacturers as part of the new phase of the COVID19 vaccination drive.
In the meantime, India on Sunday recorded 20,279 new COVID19 cases in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases in the nation to 1,52,200.
Nevertheless, the nation’s weekly positivity rate is currently 4.46 percent, and its daily positivity rate is reportedly 5.29 percent.
India now has a recovery rate of 98.45 percent.
In the past 24 hours, 18,143 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recovered patients (from the start of the pandemic) to 4,32,10,522.
According to preliminary reports from 7 am today, India’s COVID-19 vaccine coverage has crossed 201.99 crore (2,01,99,33,453). It was accomplished over 2,66,54,283 sessions.
The COVID-19 vaccination programme for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022. More than 3.85 Cr (3,85,07,516) teenagers have received the COVID-19 vaccine’s first dose thus far. The administration of the COVID-19 cautionary dose for those between the ages of 18 and 59 also began on April 10, 2022.
