With 1,259 new cases, India’s COVID-19 total rose to 4,30,21,982 on Tuesday, but the number of active cases fell to 15,378, according to the Union health ministry.
The death toll from the viral sickness has risen to 5,21,070, according to statistics from the Ministry of Health, which was updated at 8 a.m.
The current caseload accounts for 0.04 percent of the entire caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.75 percent, according to the ministry, which also noted a drop of 481 cases in the active caseload in a 24-hour period.
According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.22 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.25 percent.
In the previous 24 hours, a total of 5,77,559 tests were performed to detect the illness. So far, over 78.79 crore COVID-19 tests have been done in India so far.
The number of people who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,24,85,534, with a case fatality rate of 1.21 percent.
So far, the total number of Covid vaccine doses provided in the country has surpassed 183.53 crore.
On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 2020, 40 lakh on September 5, 2020, and 50 lakh on September 16, 2020.
It surpassed the 60 lakh level on September 28, 2020, the 70 lakh mark on October 11, 2020, the 80 lakh mark on October 29, 2020, the 90 lakh mark on November 20, 2020, and the one-crore mark on December 19, 2020.
On May 4, 2021, the country passed the two-crore Covid case barrier, and on June 23, 2021, it passed the three-crore level.
Kerala was responsible for 25 of the 35 new fatalities.
There have been a total of 5,21,070 COVID fatalities recorded in the nation, including 1,47,780 in Maharashtra, 67,822 in Kerala, 40,051 in Karnataka, 38,025 in Tamil Nadu, 26,151 in Delhi, 23,494 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,197 in West Bengal.
The health ministry emphasised that comorbidities were responsible for more than 70% of the fatalities.
The ministry stated on its website that “our data is being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” adding that the figures’ state-by-state distribution is subject to additional verification and reconciliation.
