The Union Health Ministry announced on Friday that a single-day increase of 10,549 new COVID-19 infections had brought India’s total to 3,45,55,431. At the moment, there are 1,10,133 active cases.
In the last 24 hours, 488 people have died, bringing the total death toll to 4,67,468. During the same time period, 9,868 recoveries were reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,39,77,830.
The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 49 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 152 consecutive days now.
The health ministry also said, the active cases comprise 0.32 per cent of the total infections while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.33 per cent
With the administration of 83,88,824 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 120.27 Cr (1,20,27,03,659) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 1,24,56,121 sessions.
