After party’s Covid SOP objections, Jyotiraditya Scindia doubts Bharat Jodo philosophy of Congress

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, poked fun at Rahul Gandhi, his former party leader, who is leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra after numerous Congress officials objected to the Centre’s letter requesting Covid-appropriate behaviour during the foot march.

The same party that is voicing concerns about adhering to Covid-appropriate behaviour is the one that is talking about the Bharat Jodo (unite India) concept, according to Scindia. Therefore, the party’s position on bringing India together is clear. How can “that party unify India which has not managed to maintain itself unified,” Scindia further remarked?

On Sunday, the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee celebrated his birth anniversary in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior area. The union minister was speaking to the media at the event.

“Birth anniversary of late PM Vajpayee is being celebrated as Good Governance Day. Today is an important day,” Scindia said highlighting the fact that unlike in other parties, in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), there is no leader, all are party workers.
“Our family has a very close relationship with Vajpayeeji. He gave me a lot of strength when I was in trouble. Today is his birthday. It is a matter of happiness, but his absence makes me feel bad,” the union minister added.

Jyotiraditya Scindia also assisted Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar in resuming the wearing of his “chappal,” which he had stopped doing for two months, during the programme.
Tomar had made up his mind to go barefoot as a form of protest against the lack of construction in the neighbourhood.

Tomar said, “The development works in my area have been completed and I thanked union minister Scindia who made me wear slippers today.”
