US Vice President Biden is likely infected by BA5 Covid version

US President Joe Biden’s COVID 19 infection is most likely caused by the extremely contagious Omicron subvariant BA.5.

“We have received preliminary sequencing results. The BA5 mutation is most likely the cause of the President’s illness. President Biden’s physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote in a memo that this SARS-CoV-2 subtype is currently responsible for 75–80% of cases in the United States. However, a letter from the White House doctor on Saturday stated that Biden is recuperating from COVID-19 and is better after antiviral medication.

“Last night, President Biden finished his second full day of PAXLOVID. His signs are becoming better and better.

“Last night, President Biden finished his second full day of PAXLOVID. His signs are becoming better and better. His main symptoms are now a sore throat, rhinorrhea, loose cough, and body aches, though they are less bothersome. His tone is still deep. His temperature, respiration rate, pulse, and blood pressure are all perfectly normal. On room air, his oxygen saturation remains quite good. His lungs are still clear,” the statement continued.

According to a recent study, BA.5 is four times more resistant to vaccinations than earlier strains. The president was given a second booster shot in March and is completely immunised.

“The President is still handling his therapy well. PAXLOVID will proceed as scheduled. He will continue to get supportive care for his symptoms, including oral water, acetaminophen (TYLENOL), and the albuterol inhaler he takes when he coughs (2-3 times a day). There is absolutely no breathing difficulty for him. He will continue taking low-dose aspirin in place of another blood thinner “Dr. Kevin O’Connor was added.

Biden is currently responding to therapy as anticipated. He will keep isolating in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) instructions because the BA5 variety is extremely contagious.

The President’s doctor stated, “We will continue to watch him carefully during this pretty typical outpatient treatment routine.”

The virus sample from Biden, who tested positive for COVID on Thursday, was sent for sequencing to find out which version he has.

Biden is sequestered in the White House and won’t physically return to work until his test results are clear. He will continue to perform all of his obligations from his home during this period.

The most recent COVID-19 test Biden had was on Tuesday, and the results were negative, according to the White House.
