Vivek Agnihotri teases film on India’s victory over COVID

The filmmaker of ‘The Kashmir Files,’ Vivek Agnihotri, has hinted at making a film about the achievements of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in combating the COVID pandemic in the country. According to insiders, the director has already begun planning for the event and is presently investigating who the scientists who worked on the vaccinations were.

The inspiration to depict the narrative on the big screen occurred after Agnihotri travelled to other places, during which he also tested positive for COVID and had to deal with the foreign medical system. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Agnihotri stated, “I’ve been travelling all over the world for the previous six to seven months.”

I visited the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Hungary. In reality, my wife and I received COVID in every developed country and every country in between. “I saw that their COVID infrastructure and knowledge were really weak.”

“The RTPCR test is so costly that it takes 48 hours to seven days in the United States.” The general hygiene culture was likewise deplorable. So it made me wonder what it is that we (India) have been able to accomplish so well. So I started reading about it more and trying to understand everything, and I must tell you, this world talks about India as an underdeveloped country, but this is what India is doing, particularly what the Indian Council for Medical Research and their scientists and NIV, the women scientists,” he added.

The director stated that he believed the stories of people who attained the “biggest” achievement should be told on film.

“What they have accomplished as regular people with little means is the greatest success story in human history.” So I began to consider whether it should be recorded on film and documented,” he explained.

Agnihotri stated that he is currently exploring the topic and agreed with the message that “if you want to do anything, resources don’t matter; only your desire matters.”

“I’m still investigating since I’m not that far in.” “What counts is how you feel about mankind if you want to do something,” he remarked.

He praised the efforts of the ICMR scientists’ team.

“It’s one thing to talk about humanity politically; it’s another to do something for humanity, and I had tears in my eyes when I read the account of how our scientists had to suffer in Iran.” “You know, the sort of risks they faced, but they still evacuated every single individual is a beautiful tale; I think this is the finest narrative of independent India since liberation,” Agnihotri added, praising the scientists.

The director of ‘The Kashmir Files’ praised India’s continuing immunisation effort, which recently achieved the milestone of administering over 200 crore shots, saying that this is the tale that other countries should watch.

“So a country with only one laboratory and no resources. Everyone claimed India could never manufacture a vaccine. There were several organisations fighting against us. How we developed our own vaccination and distributed 200 million doses. I believe that everyone from Tanzania to Tokyo should view this narrative “According to Agnihotri.
