Total COVID-19 immunisation coverage in India surpasses 187.95 cr

According to preliminary statistics received by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday, the country’s cumulative vaccination coverage has surpassed 187.95 crore (1,87,95,76,423) through 2,30,89,167 sessions.

According to the ministry, the COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022, and 2,70,96,975 (1st dose) and 37,27,130 (2nd dosage) have been delivered. According to the ministry, the first dosage of the coronavirus vaccination was given to 5,823,03,865 people and the second dose was given to 4,15,67,113 people.

A total of 2,691,761,618 prophylactic doses have been provided to those who are eligible under this cumulative vaccination coverage.

A total of 47,15,948 prophylactic doses were administered to health care workers (HCWs), with 74,02,619 jabs administered to front-line employees (FLWs).

People aged 18–44 years received 1,02,702 precaution doses, while those aged 45–59 years and over 60 years received 3,65,509 and 1,43,89,840 doses, respectively.

However, the HCWs received 1,04,04,823 (1st Dose) and 1,00,13,086 (2nd Dose) doses of Covid-19, whereas the FLWs received 1,84,15,129 (1st Dose) and 1,75,33,583 (2nd Dose).

People in the age group were given 55,55,33,820 (1st Dose) and 47,60,68,522 (2nd Dose) of COVID-19, whereas those in the age group 45–59 were given 20,28,90,196 (1st Dose) and 18,74,97,026 (2nd Dose).

Senior citizens (those over the age of 60) were given 12,68,43,833 (1st dose) and 11,68,04,704 (2nd dose) coronavirus vaccinations.

Active cases in India currently account for 0.04 percent of total positive cases in the country, with 15,636 active cases.

As a result, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.75%. It stated that 1,970 people have recovered in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered patients (from the start of the pandemic) to 4,25,23,311.

The country witnessed a total of 4,493,197 COVID-19 tests performed in the previous 24 hours, with 2,483 new cases recorded. India has performed a total of 83.54 crore (83,54,69,014) cumulative tests.

The weekly positivity rate in the country is now 0.58 percent, while the daily positivity rate is 0.55 percent.
