Center issues guidelines for vaccination of Children, precaution dose

The Union Health Ministry published COVID-19 vaccination instructions for children aged 15 to 18, as well as a precaution dosage for healthcare and frontline workers, as well as those over 60 with comorbidities, on Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced that vaccination against COVID-19 for children between 15-18 years will start from January 3, while “precaution dose” for healthcare and frontline workers would be administered from January 10.

He also said that the elderly population above 60 years of age and with comorbidities will also be given precaution dose on the advice of their doctor from January 10 next year as well.

According to the guidelines, the prioritisation and sequencing of the precaution dose would be based on the completion of nine months from the date of administration of the second dose.
