Chinese man visits doctor after seeing blood in his urine; turns out he was having menstruation

In an unusual occurrence, a Chinese man who had been seeing blood in his pee for some time went to the doctor, horrified. The man also complained of stomach ache that lasted many hours. A doctor had diagnosed him with appendicitis, but the pains persisted despite the treatment. He went to the doctor, assuming he had bladder problems, but the diagnosis was incorrect. The doctors astonished him by telling him that he didn’t have any urinary issues and was simply going through his monthly cycle.

Chen Li, from a small town in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, had surgery to cure a problem with irregular urination during puberty, and for the next 20 years, he observed blood in his pee.

According to the South China Morning Post, a medical check found that Chen also has female reproductive organs such as ovaries and a uterus.

His levels of the male sex hormone androgen were below average, according to his check-up report. His levels of ovarian activity and female sex hormones, on the other hand, were equivalent to those found in healthy adult women.

Chen was found to have both male and female reproductive organs at the end. Chen, who has identified as a guy for 33 years, was disturbed by the conclusion. In June, he requested that his female reproductive organs be removed.
