AIIMS to start Web Portal on Mental health care (MiHOPE) from 10th October. This portal will be helpful for online consultations where patients can discuss about mental health-related problems with the health professional and wellness experts. AIIMS has also started the Mental Health Access Summit 2020, which is a semi-online program that started from 4th to 11th October. The theme of submit is “Mental Health for All-Greater Investment- Greater Access”, the program was inaugurated Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, New Delhi.
“During COVID time the general access to health care and especially mental health care is massively impacted and hampered. The majority of the mental health issues are treatable just like other physical illnesses. However, unlike availing treatment for physical conditions, we fail to seek help for our emotional problem.” says Dr. Nand Kumar, Professor of the Psychiatry dept, AIIMS
