Ahead of Indian Festivities, AIIMS director warns of third wave in the country

In the run-up to the festivities, the director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Randeep Guleria, has warned of an increase in daily corona cases and urged people to stay aware and attentive.

“During the festive season, we have to remain alert and vigilant. If we remain careful for the next 6-8 weeks, then we will be able to see a decline in the overall number of COVID-19 cases”, news agency ANI quoted the AIIMS chief as saying.

According to the minutes of the DDMA meeting held last month, Niti Aayog member Dr VK Paul had previously stated that a narrative for enjoying holidays in a simple manner should be begun because these occasions may quickly undo all the achievements made in the battle against the Covid epidemic.
