Agra: Seven people including a nurse have been arrested in a raid conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police and the Special Task Force busting an illegal sex determination racket allegedly run by two doctors. The masterminds of the rackets, however, are still on the run.
According to a recent media report, a doctor and two others were leading the group, out of which six were arrested in the Raipura Ahir area of Achhnera and the nurse was arrested in the Trans Yamuna colony. Four ultrasound machines, two cars and other materials have also been recovered by the police.
The group was reportedly earning Rs. 2 Lakh rupees per month. A case has been registered under IPC Sections 120B, 315 and under the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique Act 1994 and 2002 by the Chief Medical Officer of Agra against the accused.
