India saw a significant drop in COVID-19 cases, with the country reporting 6,594 new infections in the past 24 hours, or 18% less than the day before.
On Monday, the nation recorded 8,084 COVID-19 instances. This was the third day in a row that India recorded more than 8,000 cases. According to the Union Health Ministry, India’s active caseload is at 50,548 currently, representing for 0.12% of overall infections.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,035 persons have been recovered from coronavirus infection, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,26,61,370. The recovery rate in India is 98.67%.
The daily positivity rate is 2.05 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 2.32%.
So far, 85.54 crore COVID-19 tests have been administered across the country, with 3,21,873 tests administered in the previous 24 hours.

Meanwhile, India’s immunisation programme has achieved 195.35 crore doses under the national COVID vaccination programme. This was accomplished with 2,50,79,283 sessions.
COVID-19 immunisation for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022. More than 3.52 crore (3,52,45,234) adolescents have received the first dose of the COVID vaccination thus far.
More than 193.53 crores (1,93,53,58,865) of vaccine doses have been distributed to states/UTs so far, with over 13.56 crore (13,56,98,610) of balance and unutilized doses remaining.
