A doctor (59) has been arrested by Delhi police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for allegedly procuring two loans of Rs. 2.9 Crores and forging his wife’s signature and documents.
The complaint against the accused was filed by a woman who said that when she applied for a loan for her daughter’s higher studies, it was rejected by the bank saying that the latter had already availed a heavy loan and was a defaulter.
After finding out that her husband had taken two loans of Rs. 1,03,97,767 and Rs. 1,85,50,000 mentioning her as co-applicant, the woman filed a case in the Delhi High Court’s mediation centre in 2018 where a case of cheating and forgery was registered.
It was found that the accused had used forged KYC documents while filing the loan applications with NBFC.
