The number of new COVID-19 infections in India has been steadily increasing, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reporting 2,927 new cases in the previous 24 hours.
India detected 2,483 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. The number of active cases has also climbed from 15,636 to 16,279. The number of active cases represents 0.04 percent of the overall number of cases.
In the previous 24 hours, 2,252 COVID patients recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries since the pandemic’s inception to 4,25,25,563. The rate of recovery is 98.75%.
According to the Ministry, 32 people died as a result of the infection in the previous 24 hours. The death toll in the country as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic has now reached 5,23,654.
The daily case positive rate increased from 0.55 percent on Tuesday to 0.58 percent today (on Wednesday). The weekly positive rate is at 0.59.
In the previous 24 hours, 5,05,065 COVID samples were examined. So far, 83.59 crore tests have been performed across the country.
In terms of immunisation, 21,97,082 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were delivered over this time period. With this, the total number of vaccines provided as part of the countrywide immunisation campaign has risen to 1,88,19,40,971.
