The country recorded 2,897 new COVID-19 infections in the previous 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
For the second day in a row, the virus’s daily case count remained below 3,000. The daily positive rate of COVID in India is 0.61 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.74 percent.
According to the Ministry, the number of current COVID cases in the country is 19,494, accounting for 0.05 percent of all positive cases in India.
In the previous 24 hours, 2,986 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recovered patients since the outbreak’s inception to 4,25,66,935.
In the previous 24 hours, 54 COVID fatalities have been reported.
Across the previous 24 hours, 4,72,190 COVID-19 tests were administered, bringing the total number of tests administered in the country to more than 84.19 crore (84,19,86,891).
According to preliminary data, India’s COVID-19 immunisation coverage has surpassed 190.67 crore (1,90,67,50,631) as of 7 a.m. today. “This was accomplished through 2,37,57,172 sessions,” according to the Ministry.
