According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 14,506 new COVID cases were recorded in India in the previous 24 hours, with a daily case positive rate of 3.35 percent.
With this, the country’s active caseload has crept closer to 100,000, now standing at 99,602. According to the Ministry, 11,574 COVID patients recovered in the previous 24 hours, bringing the country’s total number of recoveries to 4,28,08,666.
The current recovery rate is 98.56 percent.
In the previous 24 hours, 30 individuals died from the virus, bringing the total death toll to 5,25,077.
During this time, 4,33,659 COVID samples were analysed. So far, 86.19 crore tests have been performed across the country.
The weekly positive rate is 3.30%.

In the previous 24 hours, 13,44,788 COVID vaccinations were provided as part of the countrywide immunisation campaign. So far, 1,97,46,57,138 vaccinations have been administered.
As part of the statewide immunisation campaign, the Government of India has been supplying free COVID vaccines to states and union territories. In the next phase of the COVID19 immunisation programme, the Union Government would acquire and deliver (at no cost) to States and UTs 75% of the vaccines manufactured in the country by vaccine makers.
In light of the recent increase in COVID-19 instances recorded throughout the country, the Health Ministry of India asked states and union territories on June 9 to be vigilant and rigorously adhere to COVID-appropriate behaviour. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan asked States/UTs on Thursday to increase RT-PCR testing, monitoring, clinical management, immunisation, COVID-19 procedures, and adopt prompt preventive measures in a letter. Bhushan also asked the government to use a “five-pronged Strategy.”
