According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday, India has 16,678 new COVID infections in the previous 24 hours.
On Sunday, the nation had reported 18,257 cases. Active cases now reach 1,30,713, accounting for 0.30 percent of all positive cases in the nation. The daily positivity rate is 5.99%, while the overall weekly positivity rate is 4.18%.
In the previous 24 hours, 14,629 COVID patients recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,29,83,162. The percentage of recovery is 98.50%.
In the previous 24 hours, a total of 2,78,266 COVID tests were performed. The total number of tests performed to date has risen to 86.68 crore.

As of 7 a.m. today, India’s COVID-19 vaccine coverage had surpassed 198.88 Crore (1,98,88,77,537). This was accomplished by 2,60,96,863 sessions.
Covid in Children
COVID-19 immunisation for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022. More than 3.74 Cr (3,74,90,962) teenagers have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination. Similarly, COVID-19 cautionary dosage administration for the age range 18-59 years began on April 10, 2022.
In the next phase of the COVID immunisation programme, the Union Government would acquire and deliver (at no cost) to States and UTs 75% of the vaccines manufactured in the country by vaccine makers.
