Nine healthcare professionals, including a doctor, were suspended for carelessness on Monday in Assam’s Dima Hasao district after a pregnant lady in labour went to a primary health centre only to discover it closed, according to health officials.
In a viral video, a pregnant woman was shown haemorrhaging heavily following pregnancy problems.
The event happened last week at the Khepre Primary Health Center in the bordering Assam and Nagaland district of Dima Hasao.

Debolal Gorlosa, the Chief Executive of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, verified the situation on Monday and gave the Principal Secretary the go-ahead to launch an inquiry and suspend the medical professionals.
Locals said that even when individuals in crisis arrive at the health centre, the physicians and other staff do not do their tasks and are inaccessible.
