After almost a week, India’s daily COVID-19 case count fell below 3,000 on Tuesday, with the country reporting 2,288 new infections in the previous 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
With this, the country’s active COVID cases reach 19,637, accounting for 0.05 percent of all positive cases in India. According to the Ministry, the weekly positivity rate of COVID in India is now 0.79 percent, while the daily positivity rate is 0.47 percent.
In the previous 24 hours, 3,044 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recovered patients since the outbreak’s inception to 4,25,63,949.
In addition, 10 COVID fatalities have been recorded in the previous 24 hours.
Throughout the previous 24 hours, 4,84,843 COVID-19 tests were done, bringing the total number of tests in the country to more than 84.15 crore (84,15,14,701).
According to preliminary data, India’s COVID-19 immunisation coverage has surpassed 190.50 crore (1,90,50,86,706) as of 7 a.m. today. “This was accomplished through 2,37,093,334 sessions,” according to the Ministry.
