The daily COVID-19 infection rate in India increased to 3,205 today, after falling below 3,000 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the daily COVID-19 count was 2,568. India reported 2,927 new cases on April 27. Following that, the daily infections stayed above 3,000 for five days in a row.
According to today’s official data, a total of 3,27,327 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours.
The country’s active caseload is now 19,509. Active cases make up 0.005 percent of all positive cases.
With 2,802 recoveries in the previous 24 hours, the total number of recoveries now stands at 4,25,44,689. The recovery rate remained constant at 98.74%.
According to the Ministry of Health, the daily positive rate increased dramatically from 0.61 percent on Tuesday to 0.98 percent on Wednesday. The weekly positive rate improved to 0.76 percent on Wednesday, up from 0.71 percent the day before.
The illness claimed the lives of 31 more people throughout the country, bringing the total number of deaths to 523,920.
So far, 189.48 billion doses of immunisation have been delivered to qualified individuals.
