According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday, with the number of new COVID infections steadily increasing, India registered 2,380 new cases in the previous 24 hours, with the case positivity rate rising to 0.53 percent.
As compared to yesterday, India recorded 313 more COVID-19 instances today. On Wednesday, the nation recorded a total of 2,067 COVID-19 instances. With this, the country’s active caseload stands at 13,433, or 0.03 percent of all cases.
In the previous 24 hours, 1,231 COVID patients recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries since the pandemic’s inception to 4,254, 1494, and 479. The rate of recovery is 98.76%.
According to the Ministry, 56 individuals died as a result of the infection. The country’s death toll has now reached 5,22,062.
The daily case positivity rate has risen from 0.49 percent on Wednesday to 0.53 percent today (Thursday).On Wednesday and Thursday, the weekly positive rate increased from 0.38 percent to 0.43 percent.
In the previous 24 hours, 4,491,114 COVID samples were examined. So far, 83.33 crore tests have been performed across the country.
In terms of immunisation, 15,47,288 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were delivered throughout this time period. With this, the total number of vaccines provided as part of the countrywide immunisation campaign has risen to 1,87,07,08,111.
